Thumbs Up Driver Training

For many years, Kim Gibson of Thumbs Up Driver Training has been providing driving lessons in North Tyneside. You are assured that your driving instructor is approved by the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) and, for your safety, will have been checked through the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) and will abide by the Industry Code of Practice.

Learning a new skill can be nerve-racking, but learning to drive can also be exciting and rewarding, especially when you reach your goal of achieving your full licence. We aim to help make the journey from provisional to full licence holder a positive experience, with structured lessons tailored for each learner.

Lessons will be client-centred, with the learner being encouraged to play an active role in their learning and take more responsibility as they become more confident. Full assistance and prompting will be provided as needed, depending on individual ability.

To ensure students will have reached full independence and the required standard of skills before being presented for the practical test, regular mock tests will be conducted.

Access to materials to help with anxiety and nerves will be provided to help overcome those driving test nerves.
